Aber manchmal sind die Öffnungen auch ganz klein, der austretende Schwefeldampf kristallisiert und bildet recht hübsche Gebilde, die Schwefelblumen genannt werden. Der schöne Name macht den Geruch aber auch nicht besser. Es gibt hier auf der Insel ja sehr viel mehr Kühe als Mensc.
