Founded in 1959, the Botanical Conservatory serves the university community and beyond as an educational facility, research resource, and genetic diversity preserve. The Plant Growth Facilities consists of three greenhouse sites supported by the College of Biological Sciences and one growth chamber site supported by the Office of Research.

UCSC Greenhouses are a unit of the Divisions of Physical and Biological Sciences and the Division of Social Sciences. Have opportunities to utlize the facility for research projects, volunteer with restoration activities. Or just come up to check out the rooftop greenhouses and study. Can utilize the facility for projects with the approval of faculty and the greenhouse manager. Instructors can make arrangements to hold classes at the instructional facility.
